Satellite roof measurement with no monthly fee

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Roof Border measures a roof from satellite imagery for $9.95 USD ($14 CAD) per measurement, with no monthly fee and no subscription. You add funds to a balance, each measurement draws from it, and nothing is charged when you don't measure. There is no contract to cancel.

Launch offer: your first $10 buys three measurements — $3.33 each. The first purchase includes two extra measurements on top of what the deposit pays for. In Canadian dollars, a first $14 deposit gives three measurements at $4.67 each.

What you get for one measurement

A single measurement returns the full geometry of the roof, not just a surface number:

A measurement takes about 40 seconds. No ladder, no drive to the property, no tape measure.

How pay-per-measurement compares to a subscription

Most roof measurement tools bill monthly whether you measure or not. That suits a contractor quoting every day. It does not suit one quoting a few roofs a month, or one who simply wants to check the tool before committing.

PlanRecurring feeCost per measurementIncluded
Pay as you GoNone$9.95 USD / $14 CAD

Trio$129 USD / month$1.50 beyond quota100 measurements + follow-ups
Team$199 USD / month$1 beyond quota250 measurements + salespeople

The break-even is straightforward: below roughly eight measurements a month, paying per measurement costs less than the cheapest subscription. Above that, a monthly plan wins — and it also adds quoting, the website estimate widget and the lead manager, which the pay-as-you-go plan does not include.

What the no-monthly-fee plan does not include

It measures roofs. That is all it does. It does not produce PDF quotes, it does not include the website estimate widget, and it has no lead manager or follow-up sequences. Those belong to the monthly plans.

How to start without a subscription

  1. Add funds — $10 USD or $14 CAD minimum, $200 maximum
  2. Your first purchase includes 2 extra measurements, so a $10 deposit gives you three measurements at $3.33 each
  3. Spend one of them on a roof you have already measured by hand, and compare the numbers. It is the only honest way to judge accuracy
  4. Measure when you need to; the balance sits there until you do

Frequently asked questions

Is there really no monthly fee?

No monthly fee on the Pay as you Go plan. You pay $9.95 USD per measurement and nothing else. There is no subscription to cancel and no charge in a month where you measure nothing.

What is the cheapest way to measure a roof by satellite?

On a first purchase, $10 USD buys three measurements — one paid plus two included — which works out to $3.33 per measurement with no monthly fee. After that, each measurement costs $9.95 USD or $14 CAD, and a monthly plan becomes cheaper past roughly eight measurements a month.

How accurate is a satellite roof measurement?

Roof Border reports each roof face with its own area and pitch rather than a single averaged figure. The most reliable way to judge it is to measure a roof you already know by hand and compare — which is why the first purchase includes two extra measurements.

What countries are covered?

All fifty US states and every Canadian province and territory. Accounts are billed in the currency of the contractor's country, in Canadian or US dollars, and the interface and quotes come in English, Spanish and French. It runs on phone, tablet and desktop with nothing to install.

Do the funds expire?

No. The balance stays on the account until it is used.

Can I switch to a monthly plan later?

Yes. The monthly plans add PDF quoting, the website estimate widget, the lead manager and automatic follow-ups, and they lower the per-measurement cost.
