Roof measurement app
Last updated: October 3, 2026
Roof Border is a browser-based roof measurement app. You enter a street address and it measures every roof face — area and pitch — from satellite imagery, on phone, tablet or desktop. No ladder, no tape, nothing to install.
What is a roof measurement app?
A roof measurement app is a tool that measures a roof's area and slope from aerial or satellite imagery instead of by hand on the roof.
It replaces the ladder, tape and sketch with a measurement taken on screen, then feeds that measurement into squares, materials and a quote.
Does the roof measurement app need to be installed?
No — Roof Border runs in any web browser, so there is nothing to download on a phone, tablet or desktop.
Most contractors use it from the truck in front of the property, with no app store and no update to manage.
How do you measure a roof with the app?
Enter the address, click the roof on the satellite view, and each face returns with its own measured area and pitch.
- Enter the property address.
- Confirm the building and click its roof.
- Read the area and pitch for every face, then the total squares and bundles.
- Turn the measurement into a branded quote.
Does it measure pitch, or just area?
Both — each roof face gets its own pitch in x/12 notation, up to 18/12, alongside its area, rather than one average pitch for the whole roof.
Can it measure sheds, garages and outbuildings?
Yes — any structure visible from satellite imagery can be measured, including detached garages and sheds.
How much does the roof measurement app cost?
Roof Border charges per measurement with no monthly fee — you pay only for what you measure.
See current pricing on the pricing page and the no-monthly-fee model for details.
